Department of History and Geography, Assistant Professor of History. Elon University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Early American History, beginning mid-August, 2023. Specialty is open, although with a preference for expertise in North American Native American/Indigenous history. The candidate must hold a Ph.D. in U.S. History or American, Indigenous, or Ethnic Studies at the time of appointment. Teaching will include introductory U.S. history surveys; courses on the colonial, revolutionary, or early national period; upper division courses in their area of specialization; and courses in the Elon Core Curriculum. Candidates who have experience working with a diverse range of people, and who can contribute to the climate of inclusivity are encouraged to identify their experiences in their cover letter.
