The Coordinator is responsible for providing a combination of administrative, programmatic and managerial services to the Center for Community Engagement and the Interfaith Center. Duties involve managing the offices, supervising student employees, coordinating event logistics, supporting service registration for service events, updating the web, tracking the budget, overseeing a series of programing initiatives and supporting everyday functions of both offices.

Administrative Support

  • Provide administrative and management services;
  • Process financial documentation - purchase orders, check requests, transfers, payroll, and petty cash;
  • Assist with budget assessment manage expense and fundraising accounts to record, track, verify, itemize, and report department expenditures; compile receipts, and itemize expense activities.
  • Produce and review letters, memos, reports, correspondence, and other related documents, and provide assistance in reviewing and editing documents.

Office Management

  • Serve as first point of contact for the departments;
  • Handle daily administrative tasks including reserving space, ordering food and supplies, etc.;
  • Assist visitors and answer telephone;
  • Oversee telephone equipment, printer, copier, and fax machines;
  • Maintain the organization of file system;
  • Inventory and replenish office supplies;
  • Contact appropriate departments to service physical space, telephone, and computer equipment.
  • Provide literature and information about the CCE and Interfaith Center
  • Offer a welcoming and friendly environment;

Work study office assistants

  • Hire, train and supervise work study office assistants;
  • Arrange and schedule employment hours;
  • Train work study office assistants on department procedures;
  • Train work study office assistants on equipment usage telephone, fax, printer, and copier machines;
  • Process payroll for work study office assistants ;
  • Coordinate and assign projects to work study office assistants.

Technology & Marketing

  • [Manage SUconnect system related to the CCE and the Interfaith Center];
  • Create and maintain CCE and Interfaith newsletter through Constant Contact;
  • [Create and support social media efforts];
  • Assist service scholars, grad fellows and professional staff with marketing initiatives;
  • Maintain office and University calendar;
  • Maintain website;

Programmatic

  • Coordinate Hunger and Homelessness and Trans Awareness Month;
  • Serve on the Service Day planning committee to provide administrative support for the program;
  • Serve on the Rammys 5K planning committee to provide administrative support for the program;
  • Provide administrative support for other CCE programs, such as Suffolk Votes, Service Challenge, Alternative Spring Break, and Alternative Winter break, as needed;
  • Provide administrative support, including soliciting donations for for Alternative Break Fundraisers
  • Coordinate and assist with Interfaith Center programs.

Additional Tasks

  • Participate in orientations and other University events;
  • Other tasks as assigned.
