University Advancement is actively recruiting for a Director of Development position, dedicated to the support the School of Social Sciences and Education, the School of Arts and Humanities and the Walter W. Stiern Library. This position serves as a major gift officer with a focus on qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding prospects and donors. Apply today!

POSITION PURPOSE: As a member of the Division of University Advancement at California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB), this position serves as a central fundraising leader. The Director of Development identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards major gift donors to CSUB.

In partnership with the Vice President for University Advancement, the Associate Vice President for Development, Deans, Faculty, and University Administrators, this position develops fundraising plans and strategies that can aid programmatic and funding priorities which support student, faculty, academic, and community initiatives.

Under the direction of the Associate Vice President for Development, this position oversees giving to the University, assigned schools, and programs through the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors and prospective donors. Examples include, but are not limited to, soliciting gifts to establish endowed scholarships and professorships, as well as providing support for capital and endowment projects. This position will work in a team environment and work in collaboration with external and internal development partners to maximize the philanthropic support from our donors.

The candidate should remain current on campaigns, programs, and faculty/research/student initiatives at the University as a whole. This position will primarily support the School of Social Sciences and Education, the School of Arts and Humanities and the Walter W. Stiern Library.
