The School of Business at the University of Washington Bothell invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position in Finance effective September 16, 2023. This is a full-time position with a 9-month service period. We seek candidates who will contribute as engaged colleagues to serve our growing school and campus. The selected applicant will be expected to teach in multiple modalities, including online, hybrid and in-person, in a campus setting with a diverse student body, many of whom are first generation college students. 

Applicants from all research areas of Finance are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will have access to databases such as BoardEx, Compustat, CRSP, IBES, ISS, RavenPack, SEC Analytics Suite, Thomson/Refinitiv, and others provided through WRDS. The successful candidate will be expected to perform high quality research and teach a variety of Finance courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and be willing to provide service to the university, the business school, and the community. The successful candidate will teach at both the Bothell and Bellevue locations of the Business school.

The School of Business is well known for its undergraduate, MBA and MS Accounting programs. We work closely with industry leaders as well as the smaller, innovative, and rapidly growing companies in software, electronic commerce, medical equipment, biotechnology, electronics, and aerospace. Our programs draw from companies such as Microsoft, Boeing, Costco, Amazon, Expedia, Philips, and Starbucks. We also have a facility in Bellevue, WA. All faculty members in the School of Business should expect to teach at both the Bothell and Bellevue locations. We have a growing Finance club and our students have excelled in CFA research challenges and ethics challenges.

Qualifications

A doctorate (or foreign equivalent) in Finance is required. Applicants must demonstrate excellence with respect to scholarly research, and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
