The Halifax Community College Board of Trustees invites applications for the position of President of Halifax Community College. The College is located in the beautiful Roanoke River Valley in Northeastern North Carolina, amidst a rich and culturally diverse, and rural yet close-knit population. Halifax Community College is a comprehensive, two-year higher education institution, fully and most recently accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) in 2021. The College offers associate degrees, diplomas, certificates, skills certifications, workforce and economic development programs, and literacy education. The President is hired by and directly responsible to the Board of Trustees, and serves as the Chief Administrative Officer of the institution. The President provides leadership for its day-to-day administration, management and operations, consistent with policies established by the Board, General Statutes of the State of North Carolina, and State Board of Community College Code. The Board, President and Faculty adhere to the principle of shared governance. An earned doctorate from a regionally accredited educational institution and a minimum of ten years of successful senior-level academic or administrative experience is preferred. In lieu of an earned doctorate, a candidate must possess a minimal credential of a master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and a minimum of ten years of successful executive-level administrative, management or academic administrative experience. The Presidential Profile can be accessed either through the College’s website [www.halifaxcc.edu] or through the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) website [acctsearches.org]. Application materials are accessible through the ACCT portal.
