Assessment and Communications Librarian and Librarian Assistant Professor

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, twelve-month, non-tenure track Assessment and Communications Librarian and Librarian Assistant Professor faculty position in the Kennesaw State University Library System that begins in January 2023.

 

Responsibilities

Librarianship (85 %)

 

  • Provide research, reference, and collection development assistance (in person, via chat, or other communication modes) to the KSU community as needed. Assist with the creation, marketing, collection, and implementation of findings from library surveys, the Library Annual Report, and other activities. Conducts assessment studies aligned with strategic objectives for the KSU Library System, including collaboration with colleagues on unit-specific projects Leads assessment initiatives for the Library System, such as the Academic Program Reviews Develop, implement, maintain, plan, manage, edit, and assess professional and strategic marketing materials, workflows, communications, projects, social media, and events that require substantial attention to details with a focus upon increasing awareness and engagement of the KSU Library System’s collections, services, and spaces by students and faculty. Support our communication and partnership with campus entities such as the Office of Strategic Communications, Institutional Research, and the Office of Research Perform subject specific professional work including faculty outreach and assessment as needed. Work with KSU's Institutional Research to effectively communicate library influence on student Recruitment, Retention, Progression, and Graduation (RRPG)

Service (10%)

 

  • Engage in KSU Library System service, KSU University service, and/or service to the library profession.

Scholarship (5%)

 

Participate in scholarship, research, and/or creative activity. Contribute to the development of the library profession and/or subject-specific discipline through scholarship, presentations, and publications.

 

 

Required Qualifications Include

 

An earned Master’s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Librarianship and Information Science, or a master level equivalent accredited program recognized by the American Library Association. Graduating students in December 2022 are eligible to apply; degree must be earned by start date.

 

Preferred Qualifications Include

  • Expertise with Adobe Cloud, Microsoft Suite software, and social media An undergraduate degree in communications or other relevant educational background Experience in academic libraries Experience in library assessment of services, programming, and/or resources Experience with marketing services, collections, and/or events Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with evidence of strong attention to detail Evidence of effective project management, scheduling experience, and ability to meet deadlines Experience or coursework in assessing library services, spaces, and/or events Demonstrated interest in strategic storytelling and brand identity A record of professional service A record of scholarly publications and/or conference presentations which candidates will be measured
