Job Description

The Center for Neutrino Physics at Virginia Tech invites applications for two or more postdoctoral researcher positions. The Virginia Tech group lead by Prof. Mariani and Prof. Pitts is involved in the protoDUNE experiment at CERN, DUNE and SBND at Fermilab and on the e-Ar electron scattering experiment at Jefferson Lab. The group is involved in protoDUNE and SBND calibration and data analysis. In DUNE the group is involved in the slow control for the far detectors.

The successful candidate will work on both the slow monitor development and on data analysis. The group is performing several measurements related to neutrino and electron scattering on argon. Work will involve collaborating with leading experimentalists and theorists in the field in developing and validating nuclear models for neutrino interaction Monte Carlo generators. Duties may also include supervising and coordinating the work of other researchers and personnel, especially graduate and undergraduate students, and develop new analysis effort in the DUNE experiment. The successful candidate should be able to travel internationally and is expected to work for extended period of time at Fermilab and CERN. Primary location is negotiable.
