Assistant Professor in Industrial Engineering #20233TTL

The Industrial Engineering program in the Ingram School of Engineering at Texas State University invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position to begin in Fall 2023. The successful candidate will be expected to establish an externally funded research program in their areas of expertise, exhibit a strong commitment to student-centered teaching and mentoring at undergraduate and graduate levels, participate in curriculum and program development, and perform university and professional service.

Required Qualifications:         

  • Ph.D. in industrial engineering, or a closely related discipline. Degree at time of application or official notification of expected completion of the doctoral degree by July 31, 2023.
  • Research competence evidenced by publications in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings.
  • Record of teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in machine learning, data science, simulation, reliability/quality, or operations research with applications in healthcare, transportation, smart manufacturing, supply chain, and energy, among others.
  • Postdoctoral and/or industrial experience.
  • Demonstrated experience writing and securing grants and contracts.
  • An ability to work collaboratively with faculty across multiple departments and programs.
  • Experience teaching and mentoring students in academic environments with a diverse population.
  • Prior experience as an instructor or teaching assistant for capstone design courses
  • Knowledgeable about ABET accreditation procedures and deliverables.
