Job Description Summary

Leads creative content development and planning for college-related media systems, develops the annual content schedule, selection, and delivery of programming on the college’s media channels, manages content planning, supports the expansion of space-related contracts and partnerships, oversees creative development process, editing and post-production of all video productions, and review of all program scheduling, production workflow, billing, contractor management, and cost center management.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • A combination of education and full-time or part-time equivalent experience in the areas of cable station operations, video production, and multimedia production to total 10+ years.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of software based non-linear editing such as DaVinci Resolve, Apple Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Management experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Experience with computer-based software and systems.
  • Experience with networked delivery of analog and digital media.
  • Experience in master control, video over IP, streaming video.
  • Demonstrated ability in time management and multitasking skills.
  • Experience with oversight and planning for the production and dissemination of video using a variety of delivery mechanisms, e.g., IP, CABLE, streaming, On Demand, etc.
  • Experience in television programming, video production, and related video systems.
  • Experience in creative development of video production and content development for broadcast.
  • Experience in oversight and management of video production, cable television operations and related broadcast delivery services.
  • Experience operating a television scheduling system, CG system, and encoding systems.
  • Experience monitoring and solving technical problems related to digital broadcast systems.
  • Experience with DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro or other video editing tools.
  • Experience providing customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (e.g. written, verbal).
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse individuals within diverse groups (e.g., faculty, staff, and students.)
Criteria

CRITERIA : The following criteria, which are not the sole criteria used in the final hiring decision, will be used to review the applications of those persons who meet the stated minimum qualifications and to select those qualified applicants who will be interviewed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Prioritizes and produces content in support of Communications and Marketing’s objectives and the College’s strategic goals
  • Provides oversight and planning for directing and production related to the dissemination of all video using a variety of delivery mechanisms, e.g., IP, CABLE, streaming, On Demand, etc.
  • Oversight of television programming, video production, and related video systems.
  • Provides and delivers professional video productions with industry-standard turnaround.
  • Provides professional video editing using industry-standard software.
  • Directs and produces multi-media content in support of the college president.
  • Develops tactics to promote awareness of all College media channels.
  • Leads content for weekly television scheduling, closed-circuit information channel scheduling, encoding scheduling, and video production scheduling.
  • Leads in developing creative new content for media channel programming.
  • Continuously enhances television and video programing to promote the college.
  • Ensures internal and external communication and sharing of program schedule.
  • Oversight of program schedule delivery on station website.
  • Oversight and development of interactive PGCC -TV web presence that highlights video clips, program schedule, services and upcoming events.
  • Initiates creative content on station’s website and keeps it updated on a regular basis.
  • Responsible for creative development, videography, and post-production editing of all video productions.
  • Provides expert leadership on production projects involving internal and external customers.
  • Forms and maintains relationship within the county as they relate to production services.
  • Develops a process for delivery of promotional video clips on upcoming programming with the Production Coordinator for delivery on the cable television station and on the station website.
  • Advises on video production requirements.
  • Provides consultation to the college’s academic radio and broadcast media classes.
  • Oversees the scheduling, recording, and updating of the College’s on-hold phone message.
  • Directs production coordinator on which production personnel to schedule for video production services.
  • Researches and recommends new technology to improve and expand capabilities.
  • Researches and recommends the purchase of additional and replacement equipment, materials, and supplies.
  • Ensures continuous staff development and training for video production and television services.
  • Initiates corrective procedures to solve problems.
  • Maintains an organized and orderly video and cable station production facility and archival process.
  • Responds to emergency situations to post emergency alerts and college closure messages remotely on the college cable TV station.
  • Evaluates and supervises full-time and part-time staff.
  • Participates in staff development programs as required.
  • Contributes effectively to a positive work environment that demonstrates and supports a learning-centered environment.
  • Recommends and implements changes in work processes to improve the quality and effectiveness of service.
  • Reinforces and maintains high ethical standards of conduct and procedures to assist in ensuring the security of the College’s technology assets and data.
  • Collaborates with Communications and Marketing staff and other college staff to provide and promote effective video production services in a team environment.
Job Requirements

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as but not limited to a personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. No significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping and repetitive motions

  • Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
  • As required by the 1986 Immigration Act, be prepared to present acceptable documentation showing your identity and that you are a U.S. citizen or an alien who is authorized to work.
  • A background investigation will be conducted prior to the offer of employment. A signed authorization for the release of personal information will be required if selected for an interview.
  • Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds
  • Able to climb ladders and work with heights
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Have enough agility to crawl on hands and knees under tables and desks
