Job Description Summary

Assistant/Associate Professor, tenure track. We are seeking applicants with research and teaching expertise in Motor Development. Establish a successful research program leading to publications in premier refereed journals, presentations in national and international venues, and the submission of proposals for extramural funding; teach undergraduate and graduate courses in motor development as well as other areas within a kinesiology program. Additional responsibilities include recruiting, advising, and training students in the M.S. and Ph.D. degree plans in the School of Kinesiology, supervising graduate research, and providing service to the School, College, University, community, and professional organizations.

Minimum Qualifications

Earned doctorate in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or related field with an area of specialization in Motor Development (prenatal period to late adulthood) at the time employment begins. A track record of scholarly publications in peer-reviewed journals and potential for an innovative and fundable program of independent research. Excellent interpersonal communication skills and collegiality. A background or interest in fostering diversity and inclusive excellence. In addition, for the rank of Associate Professor, an independent line of research and documented progress toward the establishment of a national reputation based on research contributions in one’s field. Evidence of effective mentoring and supervising of doctoral-level students; satisfactory performance in university teaching; and service to prior/current institution are considered positive attributes. Candidates must meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States at the time appointment begins, and be able to continue working legally for the proposed term of employment. The ideal candidate will have university teaching experience and active participation in pertinent professional organizations.
