We welcome applications from a full range of candidates, including advanced doctoral candidates with an expected degree completion date before the time of hiring, established early-stage scholars, and individuals with leadership experience in higher education. We seek an individual whose scholarship and teaching addresses equity in postsecondary education related to one or more of the key domains in the study of Organization and Administration: higher education governance, strategy, administration, organizational change and innovation, organizational theory, perspectives on the organization of higher education, leadership in higher education, higher education foundations, and institutional planning. We also seek an individual who is committed to the pursuit of excellence not only in their research and teaching, but also with respect to grant writing, graduate student advising, and service. Finally, we are looking for an individual who is dedicated to advancing diversity, equity, and social justice in higher education, thus contributing to the growth and quality of the Higher Education program. The successful candidate will demonstrate a trajectory toward successfully securing external funding for research.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct exemplary research that leads to the cultivation of promising ideas and publications in major scholarly outlets as well as pursue grant funding.
2. Teach core and graduate level courses in the higher education program and the ELPA department for higher education scholars, leaders, practitioners, and policymakers.
3. Create and maintain networks with staff, students, and faculty in the Higher Education program as well as in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis.
4. Supervise and mentor graduate students and serve on committees of doctoral students.
5. Embrace the responsibilities associated with departmental and university membership.
