The Department of Computational Applied Mathematics and Operations Research (CMOR) at Rice University in Houston, Texas, seeks outstanding candidates for two positions aligned with its expansion in computational and applied mathematics. We envision the candidates to work in the broad area of computational and applied mathematics, in application areas such as medicine, energy, data science, molecular nanotechnology, materials & quantum physics, quantum computing, aerospace, and others ( We expect to hire both positions at the rank of tenure-track assistant professor; however, we will consider exceptional candidates at the rank of associate professor.

The successful applicant will be required to teach undergraduate and graduate courses and build a successful research program. Successful candidates will have exceptional research potential along with a strong commitment to teaching, advising, and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students from diverse backgrounds. The candidates must have a Ph.D. by July 1, 2023. Teaching experience at the university level will be viewed as an advantage.
