ATSU - Data and Analytics Analyst (On-site, remote, or hybrid)



A.T. Still University's Information Tech & Services (ITS) department seeks a Data and Analytics Analyst. The person in this position will participate in the analysis, design, development, organization, storage, security, implementation, maintenance, and roadmapping of the Digital Measures system. Assists users regarding the functions of Digital Measures including uploading data and resolving issues with the data.

This position is available for on-campus, telecommute (hybrid), or remote work.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Analyze, design, develop, implement, and maintain the Digital Measures system.
  • Participate in / Lead monthly Digital Measures User meetings.
  • Analyze and document business reporting, metric, and reporting or dashboard needs.
  • Train the user community in the use of the reporting, metric, and dashboard tool suite.
  • Assist in the creation of metrics and dashboards used across the university.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Manage the collection of data from disparate system sources ensuring:
    • Data Quality
    • Data is maintained in consistent and accurate formats.
    • Data Timeliness
    • Remove Data Redundancy
    • Optimize Data Extraction time
  • Analyzes Digital Measures data to determine any data quality issues (duplicates, inaccuracies…) and work to resolve.
  • Communicates effectively with users regarding the Digital Measures system and maintains metadata, data element dictionaries, and general query/reporting information.
  • Maintains relationships with users to identify and develop additional data sources for the data warehouse consistent with business rules and customer needs.
  • Prepare Design documents, make presentations, and conduct research on tools needed
  • Develop and Maintain reports on Digital Measures systems and access
  • Develop Dashboards with mobile viewing capability
  • Participates as a team member on I/T projects.
  • Assists other technical staff as needed.
Skills/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree, major in Computer Science, Business, and/or Math preferred. Experience can be substituted for education.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience
  • Knowledge of:
    • Excel
    • Data analysis skills to uncover data quality or interface issues
    • Data reporting tools such as SQL Reporting Services
    • Data dashboard and visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
    • Data warehousing and modeling methods, techniques, standards, and procedures
  • The ability to analyse a system problem and uncover the root cause of the issue.
  • Full project lifecycle development
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to juggle multiple projects at one time.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to deal with people both in person and at a distance through the use of telephone and/or video conferencing.
  • Must be a team player who can focus on multiple projects and maintain a balance between them.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills. Must have a positive attitude.
  • This person must be creative so that he/she can take an idea from concept to reality.
  • Must have the ability to work cooperatively with a variety of personalities across all levels in the university.
