Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Cyber Security Operations Center Analyst reports to the Security Operations Manager and contributes to daily operational security services of the ITS -Office of Information Security ( ITS - OIS ); this includes providing direct execution of, or assistance with, security service requests, cyber security attack monitoring, tier-2 incident handling, data loss prevention, and other related service and project work.

Duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following:
  • Supports Senior ITS Office of Information Security staff in the area of Security Operations.
  • Primary responsibility for tier-two handling of common security incident tickets including but not limited to malware detections, spam reports, vulnerability scans, data loss prevention reviews, and security event detections.
  • Responsible for helping define and carry out security operational procedures that support cost-effective mitigation of risks.
  • Perform special projects, research activities, and other duties as assigned.
  • Must exhibit maturity, reliability, composure, and stability under pressure as required for handling on-the-job challenges is essential.
Suggested Salary Range
$80,000
