N/A Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Executive Director of the Blue Cross NC Institute for Health & Human Services ( IHHS ) provides leadership and oversight to the IHHS in outreach, clinical services, education/training, and research.

Duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following:
  • Serve as the direct supervisor for four Directors who manage Community Outreach, the Interprofessional Clinic, Health Promotion for Faculty and Staff, and Counseling for Faculty and Staff, as well as the IHHS Administrative Support Associate;
  • Collaborate with the BCHS Director of Development to raise funds to support IHHS programs;
  • Promote the work of IHHS by providing ongoing dissemination of information about the IHHS to Appalachian State leadership, faculty, staff, and the regional community to grow awareness of IHHS initiatives and programs and build collaborations for community health and wellness initiatives;
  • Work with the Associate Dean for Research to build research support within the IHHS, including support of research partnerships across campus and externally;
  • Work with IHHS Directors to provide ongoing updates to BCHS faculty and staff to enhance opportunities for their involvement;
  • Monitor productivity of the IHHS and regularly evaluate the quality of achievement of the Institute's goals and mission;
  • Work with the BCHS leadership team on strategic planning;
  • Provide leadership and support for interprofessional education in collaboration with the Dean, the Associate Dean for Research & Graduate Education, college personnel, and IHHS personnel;
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Appalachian State University community and the greater community of health and human services providers in the region, including the Appalachian Regional Health System, to further the mission to transform health and wellness in the region.
