Minimum Qualifications

• A Master's degree in International Education, International Affairs, International Development, or related fields is required.
• Three or more years of progressive leadership experience developing and managing international education programs, with special emphasis in a university setting.
• An in-depth understanding of the scholarship and practice of international education is also required.
• The Executive Director must be able to initiate, develop, and sustain strong positive relations with faculty and staff, program directors, department chairs, college/school deans, and administrators across campus.
• The Executive Director must have experience living, studying, or working abroad and must be willing to travel extensively, both domestically and internationally.

N/A Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• The OIED Executive Director works closely with the Associate Vice Chancellor for International Education and Development to implement AppState's Strategic Plan, the Internationalization Strategic Plan, and management of the day-to-day operation of OIED .
• The Executive Director develops and conducts annual assessments of all functional areas to evaluate participant and program success and effectiveness, articulating program-specific key outcomes in consultation the Associate Vice Chancellor.
• The OIED Executive Director is also responsible for co-overseeing the AppState English Language Studies (AppELS) Institute.
• In the absence of the Associate Vice Chancellor, the Executive Director will assume the key leadership role.
• The Executive Director works closely with the Associate Vice Chancellor in developing projects to seek external funding to support the University's global engagement mission and implementing funded international projects.

Suggested Salary Range $85,000 - $95,000 Physical Demands of Position
