Xavier University seeks a talented, driven and compassionateAssociate Director of Alumni and Parent Relations, Marketing and Communicationsto oversee implementation of comprehensive marketing and communications plans for the Division. This position is responsible for creative and measurable communications and marketing plans for University Relations that encompass advertising, market research, digital and social media as well as other aspects of strategic marketing and communications. The Associate Director will use innovative, data-driven strategies to create high-quality content that drive engagement and giving to Xavier.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage all University Relations social media editorial accounts and calendars to advance ongoing initiatives including alumni engagement and giving, student recruitment and retention and marketing efforts
  • Monitor and review platform analytics to measure growth and identify opportunities
  • Day to day monitoring and community management of all Department social media platforms
  • Research emerging media platforms and adapt strategy to changing media trends
  • Assist in development and implementation of marketing automation campaigns
  • Engage and respond appropriately on social media channels with the goal of building positive engagement with target audience
  • Create high quality digital content to drive engagement and giving
  • Concept, create and execute a variety of multimedia content including graphics, short videos and motion graphics
  • Plan, create and post effective, on-brand content
  • Leverage repurposed content from internal sources
  • Manage the development and implementation of the comprehensive University Relations divisional annual strategic communications calendar to ensure that resources and communication needs are prioritized in a donor centric manner that provides the greatest return for the Division
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Director of Alumni Relations and the Vice President for University Relations
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing, communications, fundraising or a related field
  • Advanced knowledge of social media best practices, non-profit marketing, higher education advancement and marketing data analytics
  • At least a bachelor’s degree in a related field of study
  • Demonstrated mastery of social media content included but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn

  • Analytical – The ability to synthesize and interpret data to measure progress and make informed, evaluative decisions
  • Project Management – The ability to manage, collaborate, coordinate and execute on a wide variety of alumni and University Relations programs and initiatives.
  • Creative – The ability to develop and implement new ideas to advance Department
  • Knowledgeable – The ability to lead the Department’s social media communications strategy and serve as an expert on new and existing social media platforms and trends.
  • Technical – The ability to utilize software and Department programs to perform all essential job functions
  • Writing and Editorial – The ability to generate excellent written content free of errors and consistent with University editorial standards
