Position Summary
The Vice Provost position reports to the Senior Vice President forAcademic Affairs and Provost and assists with all matters of academic administration, policy, and planning and leads campus-wide initiatives at the direction of the Provost.
The Vice Provost works closely with a wide range of university stakeholders and units reporting to the Provost, acting on behalf of the Provost when the Provost is unavailable. The Vice Provost advises the Provost on a number of key academic appointments and appeals processes, faculty development, promotion and tenure, retention, and related issues. The Louise McBee Institute for Higher Education, the UGA Performing Arts Center and the Georgia Museum of Art report to the Vice Provost. The Assistant Provost & Campus Director of the Griffin Campus has a dual report to the Vice Provost along with the Dean of the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. In addition, the Vice Provost chairs the UGA Arts Council.

- At least two years of experience as a Department Head, Associate Dean, or leader of a large center or institute in a university setting.
