Job Details

George Washington University’s College of Professional Studies (CPS) designs lifelong learning programs with the requirements of adult learners and working professionals in mind. CPS offers undergraduate, graduate, executive and continuing education programs that address the competency requirements of adults working in emerging and rapidly changing professions that have growth potential in the Washington DC economy and beyond. CPS programs draw from multiple academic disciplines and are delivered in flexible formats: face-to-face, online, or a blend of both. By combining university faculty experts with accomplished practitioners, CPS is a catalyst for academic innovation, constructing credentials for the workforce that uphold the university’s rigorous standards of academic excellence and respond to the needs of today’s professionals.

The Associate Dean, Strategic Partnerships and Executive Education role will work with the Dean to establish and execute the business development strategy for the college, direct our B2B partnership development efforts, as well as oversee our custom executive education program portfolio, local and international residency programs, and the career services provided to our students. This leader will cultivate strategic collaborations with senior executives and community leaders locally, nationally, and globally and design effective solutions for their talent-development needs, drawing from our existing, university-wide program portfolio and by directing the development of custom offerings to address their distinctive needs. Responsibilities will include identifying target partners; nurturing collaborative partnerships; formulating proposals and establishing pricing; managing the execution of custom programs; and developing career-enhancing programs and services for our students. This is an executive position at the university that, in addition to leading a major function at the organization, has enterprise-wide scope and leads and manages the staff of the unit to strategically accomplish university goals.

Essential Functions:

· Work with the Dean to design and implement a comprehensive business development strategy, with an emphasis on creating long-term relationships that will create value for our partners, generate significant revenue into the College, and foster student career advancement.

· Oversee the development of high-quality education programs ensuring alignment with the business development plan identified for each client and by leveraging our internal faculty expertise, alumni, and other external networks.

· Develop innovative co-curricular professional development programming for students and alumni.

· Oversee the teams responsible for executing and implementing partnerships with public and private organizations, as well as other schools within the university; oversee Career Services, Experiential Education, and Events staff.

· Partner with the Dean and the Development and Alumni Relations team to establish and staff an impactful Corporate Council for the College. Manage board activities to optimize member engagement and build a sense of community, and meet aspirations for win-win strategic partnerships, programmatic enrollment growth, and financial sustainability.

· Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
