Description

The Department of Studio Art at Dartmouth College seeks to appoint a full-time tenure-track or tenured faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. This appointment is expected to begin July 2023. We seek qualified candidates who work in any media and who offer an interdisciplinary, experimental art practice. We are especially interested in applicants whose practice intersects between two or more disciplines including but not limited to: Architecture, Printmaking, Painting, Drawing, Sculpture and/or Photography.

Applicants should be prepared to teach a wide range of techniques and to offer an inclusive and innovative approach to teaching studio art in relation to a liberal arts curriculum. This position includes involvement in the administration of the department, student advising, and group critiques of student work in all areas of the department.

The Department of Studio Art is housed in the state-of-the-art Black Family Visual Arts Center, along with the Department of Film and Media Studies. The department, and Dartmouth as a whole, are highly committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive population of students, faculty, and staff. Qualifications

Applicants should hold an MFA, Master of Design, or alternative terminal degree in the Arts. This position requires classroom teaching experience at the college level as well as significant creative achievement.
