Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job
Teach 12 credit hours each semester (undergraduate) in the School
of Teaching and Learning. Serve on committees, work with area
school districts, supervise students in various settings. Teach
Monday-Friday during the day and possibly evenings. Courses taught
include, but are not limited to, The Teaching Profession, Methods
of Teaching in Secondary Schools, Human Growth and Learning,
Content Literacy, Differentiated Pedagogy, Responsibilities of the
Professional Educator, and Creating Environments for Learning.
Applicants with an earned doctorate may have the opportunity to
teach graduate courses.
Educational Requirements for the Position
Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction or related field.
Preference will be given to applicants with a Doctorate in
Curriculum and Instruction or related field.
Experience Required for the Position
At least 3-5 years successful teaching in a secondary school
setting. Experience working with diverse learners in a school
environment and in differentiating instruction.
