The primary purpose of this 9-month tenure track position is to
support graduate (M.S and PhD levels) and undergraduate education
and training. The department supports a master's degree Agriculture
and Environmental Health Sciences with a concentration in
Integrative Animal Health Systems and has a newly established PhD
program in Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, with a
concentration in Sustainable Animal Production and Health. Graduate
training across other disciplines and majors is strongly
encouraged.
The essential duties and responsibilities are to: teach graduate and undergraduate courses, participate in undergraduate and graduate advising, mentoring, and training, and participate in student recruitment and retention activities. The successful candidate is also expected to continue or develop an independent comprehensive research program in animal health that supports the strategic initiatives and goals set forth by the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, and the Department of Animal Sciences. Besides responding to the Department, college, and university strategic priorities, the faculty research initiatives are typically in alignment with the priority programs established by the National Institute of Food and Agriculture, The National Science Foundation, The National Institutes of Health, or other relevant funding organization.
Other service-related activities include service on university committees as assigned, service to profession and community, outreach/extension activities, and any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the department chair.
