JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Assistant Director of Diversity Recruitment provides leadership within the Admissions Office, assists with the development of admissions counselors, and builds relationships across campus and within the community. Provide Senior Assistant Director level planning and training. Management of special projects that directly impact enrollment goals and serve as a point of contact for the Office of Admissions. The Senior Assistant Director of Diversity Recruitment will convey key institutional messages to prospective students and parents on-and off-campus and cultivate professional relationships with guidance counselors and key educational organizations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in the development, design and implementation of strategic recruitment efforts to support the University's goals for new undergraduate students, as well as the establishment of a diverse student body
  • Establish and maintain an informational, active communication system with high school students, their parents, high school teachers/counselors, and staff members at community based organizations
  • Communicate with families about the various aspects of the college search/decision process both on and off campus, including, but not limited to financial aid, billing, academics, lifestyle, athletics, and student interest clubs
  • Develop and maintains relationships with Multicultural constituency groups on and off campus
  • Work in close partnership with the Office of Equity and Inclusion
  • Provide recommendations in the development of promotional materials and publications used in promoting the University of Indianapolis
  • Assist the Office of Admission in developing innovative approaches to the recruitment and enrollment of students from historically under-represented backgrounds including first generation, economically disadvantaged, Veterans, LGBTQ students, students of color, and students with disabilities and special needs
  • Provide the Executive Director of Admissions with quarterly and annual summary reports on diversity requirement
  • Collaborate with critical individuals and teams including faculty, Athletics, Financial Aid, Marketing & Communications, Accounting, and others in support of enrollment goals
  • Identify and develop or modify recruiting processes as needed to adhere to market demands, the higher education environment, etc
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with faculty, staff and prospective students and families, as well as other stakeholders
  • Oversee development of CRM best practices and lead the ongoing development of the CRM system for all Admission functions, with special emphasis on travel and prospective individual student outreach
  • Assist with overall efficiency and functionality in operations to ensure business practices align with institutional enrollment goals
  • Assist Admissions Counselors with planning and execution of travel seasons
  • Travel on behalf of the University for recruiting purposes
  • Speak publicly to individuals and groups on and off campus
  • Assist with reviewing and responding to performance goals on a regular basis, and adjust as necessary to meet all enrollment objectives
  • Develop recruitment plans in support of enrollment goals for the assigned territory
  • Assist with understanding the effectiveness of recruitment plans and territory management
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred
  • 3 years of experience in higher education, marketing, sales, business or related field
  • Enrollment CRM and Banner experience desired
  • Previous supervisory experience managing professional and student staff is preferred
  • Dependability, customer focus, initiative, and excellent communication skills required
