The Dean’s Office in the School of Communication at Northwestern University seeks a full-time postdoctoral researcher to assist the dean with academic and institutional research. Some of the duties will include manuscript preparation (e.g., copyediting, indexing, bibliography, etc.), archival research, research in the areas related to performance and performance studies, as well as institutional research, data analysis and reporting, in addition to other assignments that supports the dean’s personal and professional research.  This research requires significant experience in self-planning and self-executing research and the presentation of the research, both the creative as well as the institutional research.  A person selected for this position will receive a wide variety of experience applicable to career paths in any of the following: future faculty, future academic administration, or future industry roles.  This experience is directly mentored by the Dean.

Compensation:

$60K salary, plus benefits. $2K annual research funds. This is a one-year renewable position.

 

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in a Communication-related field (preferred) by September 1, 2022. Exhibit high level of organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to summarize and clearly communicate ideas and processes, both orally and in writing. Prior experience in research.  The production of a completed dissertation is sufficient evidence of the experience needed. Ability to plan and oversee the implementation of short-term and long-term projects. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills. An ability to work with confidential data and the associated correspondence. Have a strong command of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Web Design applications
