The Assistant Dean of Students for the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities (OSRR) is a full-time, 12-month position within the Dean of Students Office, reporting directly to the Associate Dean of Students. The Assistant Dean provides leadership and direction for the development of policy, programs, and services that enhance student success at UNC Greensboro. As a department within the Division of Student Affairs and the Dean of Students Office, OSRR supports students in their personal, academic, and social development. The Assistant Dean oversees the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities (OSRR) as it carries out its mission to encourage honesty, trust, fairness, respect, and responsibility through educational initiatives and processes for adjudication of alleged misconduct. The Assistant Dean is responsible for direct oversight of the Student Code of Conduct and administration of the Academic Integrity Policy. In conjunction with the Associate Dean and an Assistant Director, the Assistant Dean serves as the primary disciplinary officer for the University.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in student affairs, higher education, counseling, or another appropriate field of graduate study
  • Five years of post-graduate experience in higher education with at least two of those years providing substantive leadership in student conduct, program development, assessment, and staff supervision
  • A record of increasingly complex work responsibility
  • Demonstrated understanding of managing student conduct databases and conducting compliance report development
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, social justice, and the development of multicultural competencies
  • Knowledge of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Clery Act, Title IX, VAWA, and other applicable federal/state guidelines and laws that affect the practice of student conduct administration.
