Job Description:
The ideal candidate should have experience teaching both theory and hands-on components of courses in robotics and automation. Topics included but were not limited to microcontrollers, embedded systems, process control and instrumentation, fundamentals of electricity and electronics, motors and controls, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, networking, HMI, and PLC.

The ideal candidate should also be familiar with the latest trends in this field and capable of teaching design and repairing of automated systems.

This is a continuous recruitment to fill part-time, and temporary faculty assignments in Engineering Technology. Courses such as drafting, statics, MatLab are not part of the program.

Primary Purpose:
Duties and responsibilities as presented are intended to be representative and not restrictive. The District reserves the right to modify the assignment and allocation of duties in accordance with operational needs.

The award of all degrees must be verifiable on a legible transcript. If degree award date is not posted on transcript your application will be deemed incomplete and removed from consideration.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s in any field of engineering

OR

Bachelor’s in any of the above

AND

Master’s in mathematics, physics, computer science, chemistry or geology

OR the equivalent. Equivalent qualifications may include related education, training, employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.

(NOTE: A bachelor’s in any field of engineering with a professional engineer’s license is an alternative qualification for this discipline)

Desirable Qualifications:
Detailed experience teaching physical science courses, especially introductory classes, with innovative teaching practices supporting success and retention of women, students of color and students with disabilities.
