Position Summary

The Coordinator is responsible for arranging team travel for all varsity teams, as well as business operations and administrative functions for the Athletic Department.

Travel and Business Operations Responsibilities include:
  • Arranges all components of away travel to include transportation, hotels, meals, training meals and miscellaneous expenses for various teams.
  • Responsible for all arrangements necessary for NESCAC and NCAA Championship away contests, which includes last minute travel and hotel arrangements, cash advances for meals, etc.
  • Order and distribute necessary cash advances for teams and coaches.
  • Responsible for working with the individual sport assignors for coordinating of officials for all home contests, including NESCAC and NCAA postseason contests.
  • Handles all student payroll within athletic department to include entry into the payroll system and approval of hours through the online reporting system.
Administrative Responsibilities include:
  • Manages the Ferris Athletic Center membership database for alumni, squash and affiliate members. Coordinates ID card activation and termination with Access Control.
  • Plans and coordinates annual student-athlete award program and banquet.
  • Supports other athletic special events as necessary.
  • Manages all award orders for the department.
  • Manages office supplies and ordering for department.
  • Department liaison to IT department and oversees updating records of all IT components for the department.
  • Responsible for all employee on-boarding and off-boarding communications. Liaises with different areas of the department and the Director of Athletics to accomplish these tasks.
  • Other duties and support as assigned by the Assistant A.D. for Business Operations, Associate A.D., and the Director of Athletics.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and computer skills.
  • Candidate should be considering a career in college athletics.
  • Master’s degree preferred, along with experience in higher education and collegiate athletics, working in sports administration or event management, managing complex tasks where attention to detail is essential to success.
  • Experience in travel coordination or planning also preferred.
