Job Summary:

We are seeking applicants for a full-time, remote 12-month contract faculty position focused on Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Clinical Decision Making (CDM) to begin in Fall 2022. The successful candidate will join a vibrant faculty delivering an online program that uses a robust set of online course delivery tools to support high-level student engagement through synchronous and asynchronous sessions.

The CDM faculty is responsible for the successful delivery of the master course content and objectives and the management and oversight of assigned Section Instructors. The candidate must be highly knowledgeable about the subject matter for the specific course they are assigned to oversee, and must maintain current expertise in the subject area. The CDM faculty will support all Section Instructors by any means that are necessary, appropriate, and available to ensure student success. Depending on the candidate's experience and professional goals, we offer several different possibilities for faculty rank.

Primary Responsibilities

The CDM faculty will have the opportunity to teach courses in clinical decision making as well as be the Course Lead for Section Instructors. The faculty member is expected to mentor graduate students, participate in curriculum development, and actively engage in service to the Simmons community. Additional responsibilities include attending immersive student clinical preparedness events during the academic year, held on our Boston campus.

Qualifications
  • DNP preferred; MSN, APRN required
  • Experienced board certified Family Nurse Practitioner required
  • At least 2+ years clinical and nursing education experience required; at least 5 years of experience for candidates without a doctoral degree
  • Graduate level, clinical didactic teaching experience required
  • Online teaching exposure/experience preferred
  • Must obtain/maintain Massachusetts RN license
  • Demonstrated commitment to collegiality when interacting with others within the university community
  • Demonstrated ability to work with students across a broad range of social and personal identities and perspectives
