SUNY Empire State College seeks a Recruitment and Training
Specialist in the Office of Human Resources. The Recruitment
and Training Specialist will be responsible for working
closely with the Human Resources team and college wide staff
throughout all of our locations in managing employee recruitment
and providing professional development and coaching in Human
Resource and leadership topics. As a member of the Office of Human
Resources (OHR), this role will interact with multiple departments
in order to successfully manage and enhance the College's employee
recruitment program. This role will work to ensure that benchmarks
are established and accomplished so the College may meet the needs
of staff and students. Reporting to the Sr. HR Generalist,
the Recruitment and Training Specialist designs, develops and
delivers programs that build employee and organizational
effectiveness including those related to employee engagement,
leadership development, and performance and change
- Manage the full cycle of employee recruitment process which
includes: reviewing search requisitions, posting jobs, guiding
hiring managers and search committees, reviewing search materials,
communication with applicants and closing out the search
- Partner with the Title IX and Affirmative Action Officer and
Interim Chief Diversity Officer in ongoing review of recruitment
policy development and search committee procedures to ensure a
continued promotion of diversity, equity and inclusion through
recruitment, search and hiring practices.
- Ongoing review and revision of recruitment policies and
procedures to ensure compliance with college, federal, NYS and SUNY
- Assist with annual Affirmative Action planning, reporting and
analysis, and implementation of goals.
- Assist the Sr. HR Generalist with establishing ongoing,
processes and programs to ensure continuity of leadership talent
across the organization (i.e., succession management, high
potential talent development, leadership development).
- Partner with the Director of Human Resources in the development
of a supervisory and leadership training and development plan.
- Coordinate with Director of Compliance and responsible
department leaders to ensure all NYS, Federal and SUNY mandatory
trainings are scheduled, announced and implemented annually.
- Coordinate, track and monitor college-wide training. This
will include working with all levels of staff and departments
across the college in the full-cycle training process as it relates
to deploying, tracking and monitoring trainings.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources
Management or a related field.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in Human Resources
with a background in recruitment, training, talent management or

- Working knowledge of Affirmative Action policy, Department of
Labor laws and regulations, and Office of Federal Contract
Compliance Programs (OFCCP).
- Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously while
maintaining quality standards and meeting assigned deadlines.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Advanced degree in a directly related field.
- Experience in Higher Education.
- Experience within SUNY in a human resource related role.
- This position is located in Saratoga Springs, NY.
- Travel to college locations across NYS may be required.
