Job Description:
Position supports the educational programs of the University through the management and
supervision of the Centennial Student Union Maverick Bullpen (game room). The coordinator is part of a dynamic work unit consisting of new initiatives and evolving programs.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree, and minimum of one (1) year experience providing services in a collegiate game room, student union environment, or multi-purpose hospitality facility. Experience garnered through assistantships, internships, or other pre-professional settings will be considered towards the one (1) year of experience.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
  • Master’s Degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, Sports Management, Hospitality, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of college student or human development/growth theories with ability to apply appropriate theories based on specific student characteristics and needs.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in human resource management practices as it relates to the hiring, training, and supervision of student employees in a higher education setting.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in team building and collaboration with various groups to ensure effective delivery of services and events.
  • General knowledge of techniques, equipment and logistics needed for managing a bowling center or game room.
  • Demonstrated understanding of retail operations, including point of sales systems and cash handling
  • Demonstrated experience with food service operations or management.
  • Familiarity with USBC and competitive collegiate bowling programs and events.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in managing marketing campaigns and effective marketing practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize computer applications for service management.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent administrative skills including an ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and administer a budget.


Other Requirements:
  • Work safely at all times, which includes but is not limited to, participating and completing all required safety trainings, as well as performing all job tasks in accordance with Minnesota State University, Mankato policies and procedures utilizing appropriate tools, equipment and personal protective equipment.
  • Participation is required for weekend and evening events; possibly including weekend and overnight travel.
  • Participation in industry related association meetings for the purpose of cultivating new knowledge and opportunities.
  • This position may be called for consultation or required to respond to an emergency on campus at any time.
  • Work Location: Based on the essential functions of this positions, MMB Policy #1422, and University policies relating to flexible work, this position may include a temporary reassignment or to work outside the permanent/principal work location to meet short-term needs up to 5% of the time.



Physical Requirements
  • Mobile enough to manage and supervise job functions, including performing maintenance work on pinsetters and bowling equipment.
  • Be able to lift and carry 10-25 pounds frequently, and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
