Description
Flagler College invites applications for a full-time faculty position in the Department of Theatre Arts specializing in lighting and sound design and technology at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 2023. Areas of instruction may include the above areas of design and technology as well as fundamental introductory courses in Theatre Arts and General Education based on experience and expertise. Course assignments will vary as needed in support of the department and college. Additional Performing Arts responsibilities include execution and/or supervision of lighting and sound designs for main stage productions (3-4 per year), mentorship of student designers/technicians, and participation in technical work and rehearsals for Performing Arts Department productions. Institutional responsibilities include academic advising, service to Flagler College, including participation on Faculty Senate committees, and attendance at faculty meetings.

- Terminal degree (MFA or PhD) in Theatrical Design (Lighting, Sound, or Technical Direction preferred)
- A strong proven commitment to positive collaboration and a healthy work culture
- Evidence of professional experience in the area of theatre design
- Teaching experience at the college/university level preferred
