Student Success Program Coordinator - Engineering



The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is seeking a Student Success Program Coordinator for the School of Engineering. This role will directly report to the Director of Engineering Education Innovation and Assistant to the Dean. The Student Success Program Coordinator will be responsible for the following:

Student Services/Academic Support
  • Provide School of Engineering (SOE) students with success coaching and resources needed to succeed at The Citadel including but not limited to referrals to various on-campus resources.
  • Plan and execute events and programs in accordance with the SOE’s Student Success Program plan and with assistance from Student Success Services team including Director.
  • Organize campus club meetings by locating rooms, submitting special orders, and ordering food as needed.
  • Assist with the timely collection and communication of student data for departments and SOE leadership including but not limited to graduation, attrition, job placement, at-risk grades, etc.;
  • Support student career development by aligning academic goals with their future career goals and providing guidance on next steps or resources.
  • Assist departments with the tracking of internships and job placements during enrollment as well as following graduation for all students.
Recruitment
  • Coordinate and attend department specific outreach events and recruitment activities.
  • Attend local and on-campus recruiting events on behalf of the department and SOE.
  • Assist Director with annual recruitment plan including but not limited to engaging with The Citadel’s high school recruitment tool, Tallo.
  • Manage relationships with partners and supporters to allow access and information regarding careers and opportunities to be shared with students and staff.
Marketing and Outreach
  • Support Director of Engineering Education Innovation with School of Engineering (SOE) outreach and academic events including but not limited to Engineers Week, Engineering Expo, Deep Racer Competition, Ideathon, Pre-knob visits, student recruitment or prospective student events, etc.
  • Gather and provide social media content including but not limited to pictures and write-ups to Director for posting on SOE social media pages and post on department specific social media pages as needed/requested.
  • Assist with departmental newsletters and communications; development of collateral materials and promotional items.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience working with youth (elementary age through college)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft programs and basic computer functions
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal and communications skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Higher Education, Counseling or related field
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field
  • Experience in developing and managing student success programs
  • Experience in marketing, communications and events
