Our West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31807. Our East Campus is located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 111.

Job Summary

This is an accounting position whose primary function is coordination of Accounts Payable processes.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities -
  • Ensures timely and accurate processing of vendor payments to ASU suppliers
  • Performs monthly reconciliation of accounts payable-related balance sheet accounts as assigned by the Controller
  • Works closely with Controller and other University employees in performing successful and timely monthly and annual financial close outs
  • Performs monthly and annual accounting procedures and reporting related to accounts payable
  • Provides training and guidance to ASU faculty and staff on Accounts Payable policies and procedures on regular and as-needed basis
  • Continually assesses Accounts Payable procedures to ensure they are as effective and efficient as possible, and recommends potential improvements to the Controller
  • Researches and corrects Accounts Payable discrepancies
  • Serves as backup for Travel Expenses functions
  • Is instrumental in streamlining accounts payable methods, specifically related the development and implementation of electronic processing
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications

Associate's degree in a Business/Finance environment

3 years of experience in Business Finance environment preferably related to Accounts Payable, can be substituted for the degree

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in higher education accounting environment
Experience with accounting software, especially PeopleSoft and/or Banner
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

Proposed Salary

Salary range is from $35,000 to $45,000

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

KNOWLEDGE
Intermediate knowledge of and ability in Microsoft Excel
Knowledge of general accounting procedures and principles as they relate to accounts payable and travel regulations, more specifically State of Georgia statewide travel policy, University System of Georgia Board of Regents policies and procedures, ASU policies and procedures, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, GASS standards, and NACUBO principles.
