The History department at the University of Iowa invites applications for a position in African American History (pre-1900) at the rank of tenure-track Assistant Professor to begin August 2023.
The successful candidate must have a record of excellence in research and scholarship in African American history; be prepared to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in African American history (including the two-part survey course), as well as courses tailored to their own research specialization; and be prepared to engage the programmatic missions of the department.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in History or related field in hand by August 15, 2023.
