Responsibilities:
The Network/Telecommunications/CCTV Technician will work closely with the Technical Services Director to ensure that technical services (networking, user services, telecommunication, CCTV and other technical systems) are operating efficiently and effectively. Day to day task and project management skills are required. The successful candidate will be able to organize and manage work performed. Success in this role requires time management skills, understanding of a network and computer environment, the ability to handle multiple competing projects, project planning and the ability to convey delivery times to students, staff and faculty of the university.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure that all work orders are completed in a timely manner.
- Monitors and supports daily network, telecommunications, and CCTV operations.
- Continuously monitors systems and network help to identify anomalies and correct issues before outages occur.
- Installs, configures and maintains network, telecommunications and CCTV equipment.
- Provides troubleshooting and resolution of network, telecommunications and CCTV equipment.
- Plans, develops, tests, implements and documents new and modifications to existing hardware.
- Organizes and maintains informational and procedural documentation for the network team.
- Administrate the printing infrastructure.
- Maintains supportive, professional relationships with end users by providing courteous, responsive service to the campus community.
- Verifies that AD users are provisioned and deprovisioned in a timely and accurate manner.
- Follows documented outage notification and change control procedures.
- Participates in on-call rotation.
- Installs and configures network and telecommunications cabling.
- Maintaining campus VoIP telephones.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering technology, IT, MIS or Computer Engineering or equivalent.
- 5 years of experience working on computers, networks or other complex IT technologies.
- Ability to assess causes of technical problems and find solutions in computers and peripheral hardware using logical troubleshooting methods.
- Strong understanding of network related problems and issues.
- Ability to analyze complex problems to determine a solution.
- Ability to multitask.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and advance a large number of projects simultaneously.
Salary:
12 monthCommensurate with experience, qualifications, and university’s resources.
