Job Summary

The Policy, Organization, and Leadership Department within the School of Education is accepting applications for adjunct instructors with expertise in K-12 School Leadership. Areas of specialization include organizational leadership; leadership administration; school finance; educational technology; data analysis and assessment; parents and schools; and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Selected candidates will join a pool of adjunct faculty who will serve on an ad-hoc basis to teach classes online. Adjunct instructors are hired on a term-by-term basis. Applications are accepted continuously and will be reviewed when openings become available.

Drexel University's Master of Science in Educational Administration is an online graduate program designed to prepare highly skilled and knowledgeable practitioners for leadership positions and career advancement in K-12 school systems.

The School of Education develops leaders with the expertise to collaborate and solve complex problems related to transforming institutions and educating diverse populations impacted by domestic and global challenges. The School of Education has 1,300 students, 48 faculty, two departments, and 14 core areas that offer a suite of certificate, certification, and degree programs.

Essential Functions

The successful candidate will be expected to teach online graduate courses, advise students, work collegially with other faculty, and have a background in K-12 leadership, systems change, organizational development, or educational policy.

Other responsibilities include:
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues, public/private K-12 school organizations, and regional, state, and national education agencies/professional organizations.
  • Teaching graduate courses online in educational administration.
  • Teaching action research methods.
  • Advising and mentoring graduate students.
Required Qualifications
  • A master’s, earned doctorate, or terminal degree in education with an emphasis in educational administration or closely related field.
  • A record of excellence in teaching, research, service, and professional participation.
  • Major specialization in one or more of the following areas:
    • K-12 school leadership to support social justice, equity, diversity, and a culture of success for all students.
    • Leadership and how to effectuate change; and
    • Organizational culture and climate, educational policy, leadership, and administration.
  • Commitment to serving a culturally and ethnically diverse student body.
