Class Description

Lead administrator for athletics, intercultural engagement, student life, and student conduct. Provides vision, leadership, and direction for the implementation and effectiveness of services and activities designed to support successful student retention and completion initiatives and meaningful student engagement. Administrative responsibilities are focused on the collaboration across departments in order to achieve retention and student completion goals. They include hiring, supervising and evaluating program staff; implementation, monitoring and evaluation of services; establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with administrators, faculty, students and external constituents; in addition to maintaining fiscal and programmatic accountability.

Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field. Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale

Minimum Requirements

Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in student services administration, educational administration, management or related field required. Doctoral degree in a related discipline is preferred . Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience at or above the Director level within higher education to one or more of the offices supervised, preferably within a community college environment. Experience should include substantial experience with budget development and management, supervision, strategic planning, crisis management, and an established track record of successful leadership.

Class Specific Essential Duties

  1. Provide direct supervision to the administration of assigned program areas.
  2. Develop and lead a strategic vision that guides departmental programs and services.
  3. Provide direct leadership and professional development support for assigned staff.
  4. Provide leadership for development and implementation of policies, programs, and student support services in assigned areas.
  5. Organize resources and establish priorities.
  6. Develop and manage operating budgets for all areas of responsibility.

Position Specific Essential Duties

  1. Serve as a member of the Student Affairs leadership group.
  2. Effectively collaborate with College Communications, Enrollment, Student Development and Office of Instruction administrative leaders, faculty and staff to facilitate implementation of institutional goals and initiatives for credit and non-credit student retention and completion.
  3. Oversee the development of program budgets including analysis of individual program needs; coordinate and act on fiscal related requests from directors.
  4. Build on existing data to facilitate data driven decisions and results tracking.
  5. Create new data for tracking and analysis as needed.
  6. Build on existing culture of continuous improvement to enhance the student experience.
  7. Ensure college compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations (FERPA, Title IX; ADA; etc.).
  8. Serve and lead multiple committees as assigned by the Provost and Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs.
  9. Provide leadership and coordination for annual CCBC Commencement Ceremony.
  10. Serve as an advocate for all students and maintain a visible presence at student events and functions.

Individual or Family Coverage. Employee pays a rate in multiples of $10,000 to a maximum of $300,000.

Long-Term Disability

Plan pays 60% of gross monthly salary after 90 consecutive days of absence. Employee pays 100% of premium.

  • Roth 403(b) is a savings feature that is available when you open a 403(b) account. The Roth 403(b) savings feature allows employees to contribute after-tax dollars and then withdraw tax-free dollars from their account upon retirement. The Roth 403(b) savings feature is only offered by the following vendors: TIAA-CREF and VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. Adjunct Faculty, Part Time Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save for retirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature. Employees may contribute traditional pre-tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b) post-tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combined for the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.

McDaniel College has extended its Educator’s Legacy Scholarship (ELS) program to CCBC benefits-eligible employees. CCBC is among the inaugural community college partners.

Children of ANY current full-time benefits-eligible CCBC employee with at least four years of continuous full-time employment are eligible to receive a scholarship valued at up to $100,000 over four (4) years.
