Assistant, Associate or Full Professor (without tenure), Pediatrics, Division of Hematology/Oncology

The Division of Hematology/Oncology and Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine is recruiting 2 full-time Pediatric Oncologists on the Faculty Scientist track at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor without tenure due to funding (WOT), commensurate with experience and qualifications. Anticipated start date is Winter or Spring 2023.

Assistant Professors  are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.

Associate and Full Professors  hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. 

These positions will support the department's commitment to basic and/or translational, and/or  clinical cancer research that is relevant to children, adolescents, and young adults with cancer. Ample laboratory space and resources for the candidate will be provided by the Seattle Children’s Research Institute, where the investigators will join the Ben Towne Center for Childhood Cancer Research.

In addition to leading their own independent research programs, candidates will provide up to 25% effort to the clinical care of patients as part of a talented multidisciplinary team at Seattle Children’s Hospital, the largest pediatric cancer program in the Pacific Northwest.

All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.

Qualifications

Applicants must have an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent), and be board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. Applicants must have completed a pediatric residency and a pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship.

Applicants must provide evidence of research productivity in basic/translational pediatric oncology research.

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
