Job Description:

The Senior Business Analyst within Advancement Information Services (AIS) is responsible for providing strategic analysis services to business partners within the division, as well as key units across the University that interface with Advancement. The focus of this position is to work closely with the line of business to gain in-depth understanding of their business strategy, processes, and needs to provide solution-based direction and support. This role is a critical, centralized player in addressing and solving the steady flow of business challenges that arise division-wide.

This position will provide lead support and ensure consistent user adoption for the University’s enterprise Advancement Information Systems, Blackbaud CRM(BBCRM) and Blackbaud Internet Solutions (BBIS), as well as other critical applications used by the division. In support of Advancement’s goals and initiatives, the r esponsibilities of this position include: learning and documenting business processes and gaps; providing maintenance & support of all Advancement systems providing data analysis and data solutions; ensuring data compliance rules are communicated and practiced; and leading various size projects for business, technical and systematic improvements.

Job Qualifications
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion as well as an understanding of the contributions a diverse workforce brings to the workplace.

  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.

  • Ability to accurately document business requirements and ERP systems' information architecture.

  • Highly adept at mapping system and business processes

  • Strong aptitude for diagnosing end user problems, identifying and implementing solutions.

  • Understanding of standard IT policies and procedures, including usage of test environments and change procedures.

  • Proven history of utilizing Microsoft Excel to import, export, query and report on data.

  • Experience with SDLC methodologies including requirements, design, implementation, testing and maintenance.

  • Working knowledge of relational database architectures preferred.

  • Experience with developing and implementing reporting vehicles and using CRM software to Query, extract and/or load data preferred.

  • Propensity for strong, internal customer service delivery and a proactive approach to user efficiency.

  • Excel at uncovering hidden trends in a volume of data.

  • Detail oriented and organized with an ability to meet deadlines and m anaging competing resources and priorities.

  • Demonstrated history of functioning independently while working well in a team-oriented environment, taking the initiative to be productive and efficient.

  • Assists the Department of Advancement Information Services with other duties as assigned.

  • Protects confidential information.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business analysis, project management, and/or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of providing technical support / implementation of Enterprise software and the software development life-cycle.

  • Experience with SQL or similar query language required, T-SQL preferred.

  • Blackbaud product experience strongly preferred, specifically with Blackbaud CRM.

  • Experience working in a philanthropic or higher educational environment preferred.
