Williams College invites applications for the position of Assistant Coach of Alpine Skiing. The Williams Ski Team strives to build an inclusive culture, one in which individual experiences and identities are celebrated. The team trains at Jiminy Peak - just twenty minutes from campus. The mountain has a high speed six pack chairlift, demanding terrain and a great relationship with the program. Williams has a track record of helping athletes improve throughout their college career.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute practice sessions on and off snow
- Execute race-day coaching
- Develop athletes through goal setting and mentoring
- Assist in the recruiting process
- Assist in seasonal planning: travel & race intents
- Manage Equipment: order & repair
- Drive vans to races and training
- Take, upload and review on-hill video
- Attend department and program meetings
- Other duties assigned by head coach
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- FIS level racing/coaching experience
- Knowledge of physiology, sports psychology and a love of athletics
- Openness to both learn and impart knowledge
- Ability to communicate clearly, be organized and possess strong computer skills
- Skills and enthusiasm for supporting a diverse group with varying abilities and identities
- Ability to transport gates / equipment weighing up to 40lbs on skis
- Valid driver’s license is required
