General Summary: Engages alumnae, parents and friends of the college to deepen their interest, involvement and philanthropic investment in the strategic priorities and impact of the college. Provides consistent strategic contact with assigned prospects and donors to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward them for leadership level gifts ($25K+). Works closely with development staff across all sub-units to ensure coordination of prospect and donor engagement, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. Participates in the design and implementation of the leadership giving program in conjunction with the director of leadership giving within the guidelines of federal, state and local laws and office, division and college policies and procedures. Assists the Fund for Agnes Scott unit in soliciting and stewarding leadership annual giving among assigned prospects and donors. Reports to the director of leadership giving or other designated person and works with colleagues, donors, volunteers, alumnae and college personnel.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Participates as both a frontline fundraiser and a strategic manager of relationships for a portfolio of 90-120 donors and prospects.
  2. Helps donors accomplish their philanthropic goals and ambitions through a relationship with Agnes Scott College.
  3. Collaborates with colleagues within the unit, development office, and others across campus in the identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of assigned prospects and donors.
  4. Solicits leadership-level ($25,000+) gifts to contribute to the leadership giving program's goals as defined by division leadership and annual development plan.
  5. Provides consistent tracking, monitoring and reporting of engagement and fundraising progression to achieve leadership giving goals.
  6. Coordinates with the director of donor relations and volunteer engagement on appropriate and timely stewardship of assigned donors' gifts.
  7. Works with the director in positioning the leadership giving program for the college's current and future campaign priorities.
  8. Manages volunteers and coordinate meetings and events, as necessary.
  9. Assists the director of leadership giving and other development leaders with the preparation of reports, memoranda and proposals for use in solicitations by staff, administration, trustees and volunteers.
  10. Meets donor engagement and fundraising metrics as determined by the director of leadership giving and advancement leadership.
  11. Works closely with the research and prospect management staff to ensure prompt and consistent completion of appropriate contact reports and follow-up work.
  12. Assists with gift planning projects and visits as requested by the director.
  13. Conducts ethical fundraising practices by respecting the Donor Bill of Rights.
  14. Demonstrates customer service-oriented behavior, civility and professionalism.


Non-Essential Job Functions

  1. Assists with development, advancement and Agnes Scott community events as requested.
  2. Attends professional development conferences and trainings.
  3. Actively reviews information and publications on the fundraising profession, philanthropy and advancement best practices.


REQUIREMENTS

Education: BA/BS in related occupational field of study.

Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years, preferably in non-profit and fundraising environment.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Considerable knowledge of fundraising techniques and procedures, and Agnes Scott College history, goals and policies.
  • Strong knowledge of the Metro Atlanta community and the role of philanthropy as part of the region's culture.
  • Proficiency in computer software including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office applications, and Google Suite web applications; database management helpful, particularly Raiser's Edge.
  • Familiarity with capital campaign and gift planning methods.
  • Proven success and ability in working with a variety of people and personalities, engaging in difficult conversations, managing diverse tasks simultaneously, organizing, strategizing and decision-making.
  • Proven ability in public presentations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and to maintain confidentiality.
Other:
  • Irregular hours and overtime required on a regular basis, depending on special events, projects and travel.
  • High self-confidence and poise necessary.
  • Willingness to travel extensively as well as visit with Atlanta area donors, providing own in-town transportation.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Intermittent sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, walking and occasional moving of light objects. Work is performed in an office or at off-campus social/business settings.
