Research Faculty I in College of Education (Methodologist)

  • Collaborate with investigators to develop objectives and to design sampling, randomization, and statistical analysis plans to achieve study goals.
  • Utilize best research design practices to collaborate with and advise COE researchers in designing projects that align with standards and expectations of major Federal funding agencies.
  • Use established statistical techniques, perform appropriate methodologic procedures for statistical analysis, including graphs, schematic summaries, descriptive statistics, exploratory data analyses, confirmatory data analyses, and statistical tests and/or modeling.
  • Work with COE scientists to align statistical analysis plan with data collection procedures and forms.
  • Design tables and statistical procedures for research studies and apply new statistical methodologies as appropriate.
  • Perform sample size and power calculations for appropriate statistical procedures.
  • Prepare tables/graphics for interim and final reports and prepare written reports of statistical analyses.
  • Participate in writing statistical design, methods, and analysis result sections for manuscripts and research proposals.
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with security policies governed by HIPAA and FSUs IRB.
  • Responsible for research support and related activities assigned by the Associate Dean for Research.



  • A research-intensive doctoral degree in education, statistics, or related discipline with a demonstrated record of achievement in research.
  • Expertise and advanced training in statistical methods for conducting social science research.
  • Demonstrated expertise in statistical consulting/collaboration and technical writing.
  • Experience in working on intramural or extramural funding mechanisms.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communications skills.
  • Self-starter, dependable, and team oriented.
  • Ability to organize, multi-task, prioritize and balance short-term and long-term responsibilities.
  • Ability to maintain excellent working relationships with study teams, researchers, senior leaders, and external contacts.



  • A publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Expertise and advanced training in statistical methods for conducting education research.
  • Experience in serving as a PI or Co-PI on intramurally or extramurally funded projects.


Other Information:

This is a three-year, fixed term appointment with the possibility of extending employment upon review and resource availability.
