Job Description

The ASU College of Health Solutions, Biostatistics Core seeks an enthusiastic research analyst to support CHS researchers along the entire research study timeline with particular focus on data collection, data management, and data analysis tasks. Duties are technical and complex and involve a high degree of responsibility and judgment. May supervise or direct activities of student employees. A significant amount of specialized training or experience is required.


Salary Range

$43,920-$57,000 per year; DOE

Essential Duties

  • Support the REDCap software by assisting end-users in using the application, troubleshooting basic hurdles, processing end-user requests, and maintaining/continue developing user resources.
  • Provide introductory level biostatistical support, such as descriptive statistics reports and tables
  • Manage and occasionally lead REDCap and Biostatistics Core events
  • REDCap data curation
  • Create videos and tutorials
  • Communicate with Knowledge Enterprise and CHS IT to troubleshoot server and user issues
  • Maintain multiple REDCap databases (including the creation of new REDCap forms, the update of existing form, the management of user access, and developing reports and tracking data collection progress)


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field AND three years of experience in research, information analysis or program evaluation; OR, Master's degree in a related field AND one year of experience in research, information analysis or program evaluation; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.


Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of data transformation and data wrangling/cleaning
  • Demonstrated knowledge of statistical analyses under the guidance of team statisticians
  • Experience in summarizing data with descriptive statistics and with basic data visualizations and proper reporting as published in peer-reviewed journals
  • Experience in creating and maintaining detailed documentation/codebooks for data 
  • Experience in working with a team, be detail oriented, be well organized, and communicate effectively
  • Experience with web application programming
  • Demonstrated knowledge with contents and constraints of collected data sets
  • Experience in website design and development
