Job Description Summary
The College of Liberal and Professional Studies in the University of Pennsylvania's School of Arts and Sciences is dedicated to extending learning beyond traditional borders and engages a richly diverse population of intellectually capable students at many points in their lives. LPS programs include professional and academic programs (including study abroad and English language programs for international students and professionals), summer sessions, non-credit programs, workshops, and symposia. LPS programs all have a foundation in the arts and sciences. Each year LPS offers 600 credit courses for undergraduate and graduate, degree and non- degree students as well as non-credit courses focused on areas such as personal enrichment, professional development, and English as a second language.
The Recruitment Specialist recruits academically qualified students for the College of Liberal and Professional Studies (LPS) programs, counsels them through the admissions process, and maintains communication through their matriculation.
Job Description
The Specialist responds to potential students' inquiries, staffs local, regional and national recruitment events, and possibly international travel. Identifies prospective students who meet admissions criteria, participates on admissions review committees, and follows up with admitted students to guarantee their enrollment at LPS. The Specialist helps prospective students and applicants navigate the application and admissions process and coordinates closely with staff in admissions and student records to assist enrolled students with their matriculation and initial orientation.
Responsibilities
Meet application targets by effective communication with prospective students for specific LPS programs. Provide professional customer service & respond to inquiries via phone, walk-in traffic, email. Develop & maintain inquiry response templates & scripts for recruitment & outreach. Identify highly qualified prospects & partner with program directors to recruit admissible students to LPS programs. Use email, CRM & other tools to track effectiveness of recruitment initiatives.
Staff local, regional, national, and possibly international recruiting events (information sessions, open houses, transfer fairs). Plan events by working with program directors, enrollment management staff and marketing team. Conduct follow up activities to convert prospects to applicants. Track results of outreach events.
Assist applicants with the application process to ensure submission of completed applications. Serve on admissions committees for LPS programs as assigned. Review applicant files, interview candidates, recommend admissions decisions. Communicate with students who have questions about their admissions decisions per LPS policy.
Follow up with admitted students to boost matriculation rates. Orient admitted students to resources of LPS and the University to help them find information and solve problems that may affect their enrollment. Route students to the LPS student portal and other Penn web resources for information and support. Direct students to other Penn offices and services as appropriate. Ensure smooth hand-off of enrolled students to LPS Student Services and Records team for matriculation.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with 2-3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
2-3 years of experience in sales, recruitment, or admissions; experience with continuing and professional higher education clients in the arts and sciences and experience highly preferred.
Ability to utilize database systems and Internet resources to conduct research and generate reports. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to convey professionalism and enthusiasm when communicating with a wide range of audiences, from high school students to LPS professional clients and alumni.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Position involves some local, regional national travel, may be a possibility for international travel and occasionally requires the candidate to work evenings and weekends for recruiting events.

Targeted Pay Range: $43,919 - $60,617
