Gettysburg College is seeking a full-time (40 hours per week) Project Manager to work in the Facilities Services Department. This position will be responsible for performing a variety of administrative and managerial duties in the daily operation of the College’s Capital and Cycle programs for Facilities Services.  Specifically, this position will be responsible for the scheduling, planning, budgeting, contracting and completion of assigned projects. The Project Manager serves as a project liaison, routinely communicating with College’s Facilities Services team, consultants, architects, engineers, contracting firms, government agencies and officials, utility companies, inspection agencies, and other vendors. This position ensures that the proper resources are secured for successful project execution and completion. This position reports to the Director of Capital Projects.

 

A high school diploma or equivalency is required, with a degree in project, construction management, or a similar field is preferred.  In lieu of degree, at least three to five (3-5) years of experience in project or facilities management is required.  Successful candidates should possess knowledge of the following:  building structures, maintenance, mechanical/electrical systems, project management, occupational and safety standards, purchasing, bidding requirements, project coordination, construction plans, and building/construction codes and regulations.

 

A valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain one is required.  Successful candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion. Experience with forklifts, man lifts, and other construction-related equipment is preferred.
