Position Description:

The University of Washington’s Department of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine, is seeking applicants for a full-time (1.0 FTE) faculty position to be based at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System (VAPSHCS). This position would conduct research on improving the quality and patient-centeredness of primary care delivery for patients with multiple chronic conditions (multimorbidity), as well as serve as a primary care physician at the VA Primary Care Clinic.

This position will be at the Assistant Professor rank (without tenure due to funding) on the physician/scientist pathway. Assistant professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. The anticipated start date would be January 2, 2023.

Qualifications:

Applicants must have an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and board certification in Internal Medicine (or foreign equivalent). Board certification in Internal Medicine must be completed within two years after residency.

Eligible candidates must have an established record of at least two years as a teacher in a university setting, with both medical students and residents.  Applicants must show evidence of scholarly productivity and peer-reviewed publications of original studies.
