Location
Our West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Our East Campus is located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 111.
Job Summary
The Assistant Professor of Educational Foundations will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in educational foundations in the School of Education.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses (15 hours) each semester (fall, spring)
- Advise the students in the foundational education courses in undergraduate and graduate programs
- Engage in writing program assessment reports
- Update curriculum to be aligned with PSC rule changes
- Seeks external funding through grants
- Other job-related duties as required
Earned doctorate (PhD OR EdD) in Educational Foundations OR elementary education OR middle grades education from an accredited institution is required.
Successful university level teaching and supervision experiences; three years of successful work experience with young children or equivalent clinical experiences serving children P-5 are also required.
The faculty member should have three years’ experience in higher education at an accredited institution teaching education at undergraduate and graduate level.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in K -12 teaching
Proposed Salary
Salary range is from $50,000 to $60,000
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge
The faculty member should have knowledge of the foundational education courses offered in the unit and any associated PSC accreditations that exist within the unit.
Skills
The faculty member should have excellent communication skills, both oral and written. The faculty member should have knowledge of Professional Standards Commission Rules for Candidate Preparation in all levels of foundational education courses.
Abilities
The faculty member should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, Banner.
