The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Occupational Therapy Program in the College of Science and Health invites qualified applicants for a full-time 9-month academic year position.
This tenure-track (assistant professor) position is available in January 2023. Successful candidates will have completed a terminal doctorate degree (Ph.D, Ed.D., DHSc or equivalent) and will be responsible for teaching, service, and scholarship in the Occupational Therapy Program in collaboration with other health professions programs. Areas of program need include teaching of research curriculum (research methods, assessment, evidence-based practice, analysis and dissemination) and foundational sciences (physiology, neuroanatomy, etc). An Occupational Therapy degree and university teaching experience are not required. This is a 9-month appointment however opportunities for teaching in the summer months for additional compensation may be available.
Under general supervision of the department chair, a person in this position is responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses, and advising students. In addition to preparing for and holding classes [face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online], teaching involves maintaining currency in the content area related to the teaching assignment, evaluating students’ work, assessing student outcomes, maintaining appropriate records, and holding office hours. The individual is expected to maintain an active, ongoing program of scholarship appropriate to the discipline. In addition, this individual will provide service to the department, college, and university and is likely expected to provide service to the community and/or the profession. Other duties may be assigned by the chair or dean.
