Catholic Distance University (www.cdu.edu), is seeking a new generation of presidential leadership embodied in a practicing Catholic who is transformational, strategic, humble, and inspirational. This person must be a mission-driven leader who tirelessly seeks the wisdom of God through the Catholic Church and the extraordinary gift of the governing body of trustees, as well as the highly competent staff and faculty. The President and Chief Executive Officer leads and oversees all aspects of the University’s operations, is the public face of the University, and serves as an ex-officio member and Secretary of the Board of Trustees.

The successful candidate must possess a Ph.D. or terminal degree in a field appropriate to CDU; practice the Catholic faith demonstrating fidelity to the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church; and agree to live within reasonable commuting distance of CDU’s headquarters in Charles Town, West Virginia. Specific duties include providing leadership, vision, and direction in the implementation of the University’s Strategic Plan as approved by the Board of Trustees, overseeing current and proposed academic programs as well as day-to-day operations, and accelerating growth through innovations in curriculum, and securing new academic partnerships and grants. In particular, CDU‘s next President will be charged with implementing a unique new curriculum in Catholic Social Teaching and leveraging recent accreditations from the Higher Learning Commission and Association of Theological Schools.
