  • This full-time position supports Graduate Admission and the School of Education in the recruitment of students for enrollment. To be effective in this roll, the position must understand the requirements involved in enrolling a student in programs designed for educators and other school professionals. The Assistant Director of Graduate Admission will provide advising and support throughout the admissions process for prospective students. This includes communicating pertinent information, assisting with the application process, and all ongoing follow-up up via phone, e-mail and virtual as well as in-person visits. To ensure effective admissions marketing initiatives, the Assistant Director of Graduate Admission will build, support, and maintain relationships with schools, organizations, professional networks, non-profits, and others to identify and cultivate recruitment opportunities. Evening and weekend hours and travel in and out of state are required.

    RESPONSIBIITIES:
  • Recruiting prospective students through visiting schools, districts, professional organizations, conferences, universities, colleges, community events, presentations, and college fairs within the scope of the School of Education.
  • Recruitment events coverage will require availability on some evenings and weekends
  • Communicate the process of becoming a teacher or other school professional to potential students and outside constituents
  • Plan and attend on- and off-campus recruitment events and travel to feeder schools, employers and essential conferences and events for enrollment, networking, and visibility purposes.
  • Utilize the CRM (Slate) to track applicant history and interactions
  • Manage the students in the admission enrollment funnel, responding to inquiries and requests in a timely manner
  • Prepare applicant records for graduate faculty review, including processing applicant documentation
  • Support new graduate students in setting up academic advisement appointments for registration
  • Assist in the development/update of a comprehensive graduate marketing plan.
  • Prepare enrolled student files for the Registrar
  • Build, support, and maintain relationships with schools, organizations, professional networks, non-profits, and others to identify and cultivate recruitment opportunities. Understand and support Financial Aid procedures, policies, and events pertaining to the enrollment of a new graduate student.
  • Participate in GCU-wide special projects and committee work as assigned
  • Serve as Department/Admissions Office liaisons for School of Education marketing and recruitment programs
  • Utilize the CRM (Slate) to report student application status to requested parties
  • Partner with School of Education faculty to track and monitor applicants through the admission funnel
  • Provide feedback on operations processes to improve the student application experience
  • Review and assist with the development of admission publications
  • Integrate the core values of respect, compassion, integrity, justice, and service in all job duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Attend work-related trainings and seminars off campus.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Valid NJ driver’s license, willingness to travel.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent organizational ability to manage multiple projects and to work independently and in a team.
  • Able to work with a diverse pool of prospective graduate students.
  • Interest in the education of future teachers and school professionals
  • Knowledge of graduate admissions process required; related experience desired.
  • Ability to manage confidential information pertaining to application review and other admission initiatives
  • Ability to connect and build relationships with prospective students as well as partner school districts, organizations, professional networks, feeder schools, and others
  • Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and relational databases desired.
  • Capability of standing for long periods and handling large quantities of recruitment materials.
  • Preferred knowledge of the use of a CRM in admission recruitment, ideally Technolutions Slate.
